CanTA Project
We are unique site with a unique goal in mind. Our goal is to help patients, those who care for them and their medical providers make the best possible decisions about their treatment options. We began on this journey after having had the opportunity to analyze data from tens of thousands of patients with a diagnosis of cancer receiving many different therapies.
When you use our site, we would ask that you leave us your anonymized data so that we can add it to our accumulated information. The more information we accumulate the more powerful our method of analysis becomes. We have cared for patients with a diagnosis of cancer our entire professional lives and we know how difficult this journey can be. We sincerely believe this can help in that journey. We will work hard to make this resource continuously better. We welcome any feedback.
What to expect
The goal for everyone with a diagnosis of cancer and for all who help to care for them is to try to eradicate the disease – to aim for a cure. While we are increasingly successful at curing cancer, we still have a long way to go. As we have tried to find cures, we have succeeded in developing therapies that while not able to cure nevertheless have an impact on cancer - often destroying a large portion of a cancer and/or slowing its growth. While cure remains the goal, we cannot ignore that a drug that slows the growth of the cancer and is very well tolerated may bring meaningful benefit to an individual with a diagnosis of cancer. We now have in our armamentarium an increasing number of anti-cancer drugs that can slow the growth of tumors.
Our goal is to help individuals with cancer and those who help care for them, estimate the impact of the anti-cancer drug(s) being administered and where possible provide information that helps to predict how well other anti-cancer strategies might work. Our hope is that with this information the best decision(s) may be made. By entering results in our platform, we hope to be able to provide you information that will:
- help understand how well the treatment being given is performing;
- can be used to understand the amount of benefit other drugs might provide.
